The newest member of our poster family, this 20 x 28-inch laminated chart lists over 40 errors that can be committed during the collection, transport, and handling of blood samples. A corresponding column lists the impact each error has on the test result and patient. Errors include improper mixing, patient misidentification, probing for veins, filling tubes in the wrong order, pouring blood from one tube into another, underfilling tubes and many more.
